A new Battlefield 1 trailer is coming next week, Electronic Arts has announced. In a blog post, the publisher said this video will contain a “trainload” of new information about the World War I shooter.
The use of the world “trainload” is indeed a tease, EA said, though no other details are available. The railway industry played a role in the war, including ambulance trains that transported wounded soldiers. Additionally, a train was seen in a previous Battlefield 1 trailer.
EA has also announced a new Battlefield Squads livestream taking place next week during Gamescom. On August 16, a number of YouTube and Twitch personalities, among other “internet stars,” will play Battlefield 1 on a never-before-seen map. The broadcast begins at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET that day.
The name of the new map was not divulged, but EA said it contains “points to capture, horses to ride, and things to demolish.” It’s unclear if the new trailer will also air on August 16.
One of the event’s participants, Westie, shared an image of the map on Twitter.

August 16 is also the day that Respawn will hold its own livestream for Titanfall 2, which is published by EA. The company does not appear to have plans for a formal briefing like it had last year, however. Microsoft and Sony are also not expected to hold official events at the show.
In other Battlefield 1 news, the Battlefield Insider page has been updated to allow users to select which platform they’d like to receive a beta code for. The beta is expected to begin “shortly after” Gamescom, and Battlefield Insiders will get to play before everyone else. Gamescom runs August 17-21.
