Almost one year ago, the third part of The Witcher franchise burst into the gaming world. This history-making fantasy game is one of the greatest video games based on books. The Witcher Saga of the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski inspired game developers to create the series of epic RPGs. But, obviously, they are not going to rest on their laurels. A big DLC (additive downloadable content) for the last Witcher will be released in the first quarter of 2016.
The name of the future DLC sounds very promising—Blood and Wine. Many fans consider this expansion to be a real sequel to The Witcher 3 for a number of reasons. First of all, developers claim that the upcoming content is a 20-hour tale! In comparison with the last year’s Hearts of Stone, which lasts 10 hours, Blood and Wine seems to be really massive. Moreover, Geralt is going to discover the new land of Toussaint. Visually it will be unlike “anything you saw in Hearts of Stone or Wild Hunt.”
CD Projekt RED is doing their best to raise interest in the upcoming release. Game developers told journalists that the DLC was going to exceed the main game! Blood and Wine is even “more refined” than The Witcher 3 itself. Furthermore, the new region hosts new unknown monsters that will challenge Geralt. Of course, the main character will need some new weapon to slay them. And, finally, new exciting quests and breathtaking Toussaintian sites are waiting for every player. All these pleasant game announcements are making the gamers burn with impatience.
By the way, the officials of CD Projekt RED attracted a lot of attention to the new location with eloquent descriptions and amazing screenshots. Beautiful Toussaint has not participated in wars for centuries. It seems that this carefree region does not know what violence and sorrow mean. But Geralt has a presentiment that something is wrong with this peaceful land. And his intuition never lets him down, does it? The main task of Blood and Wine DLC will be to reveal the darkest secrets of the sunny Toussaint.
The Witcher 3 has won a large number of awards in the gaming world in numerous nominations. This RPG conquered such contests as Golden Joystick Awards, Giant Bomb, Global Game Awards, IGN, Play Station.Blog, and many others. So, will Blood and Wine win the nomination of “The Best DLC of 2016”? Only time will tell. But one thing is certain: all fans of Geralt cannot wait to check out CD Projekt`s epic pack of downloadable content.
